Detailed Review
The Smith & Wesson M&P 340 is a lightweight, pocket-sized revolver that packs a serious punch. Constructed of scandium alloy and stainless steel, this revolver is built to last. Weighing in at just 13.3 ounces, the M&P 340 is easy to carry and conceal, making it an excellent choice for personal defense.
The M&P 340 features a 1.875-inch barrel and can hold up to five rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special ammunition. Its double-action-only trigger provides a smooth, consistent pull, and the revolver's fixed front and rear sights make for accurate shooting. The cylinder release is easy to access, allowing for quick reloading when needed.
One of the standout features of the M&P 340 is its ability to handle .357 Magnum rounds. This powerful ammunition makes the M&P 340 a formidable weapon, capable of stopping an attacker in their tracks. However, due to the recoil of .357 Magnum rounds, many shooters prefer to use .38 Special ammunition instead. Fortunately, the M&P 340 can handle both types of ammunition, giving shooters the flexibility to choose what works best for them.
The M&P 340's grip is made of synthetic material and features finger grooves for added comfort and control. Additionally, the revolver's cylinder is fluted, reducing weight and enhancing the gun's balance. The M&P 340 also comes with a snag-free internal hammer, making it easier to draw from a pocket or holster without getting caught on clothing or other objects.
Overall, the Smith & Wesson M&P 340 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable, lightweight revolver for personal defense. Its versatility in handling both .357 Magnum and .38 Special ammunition, coupled with its compact size and durability, make it a top contender in the market.

Th gun feels like a cannon in your hand. I have been using a tauras 357 as my carry but I wanted something smaller for concealment here in fl. The tauras is easier on the hand but the s&w is much better as concealment gun.

December 3, 2018Timely shipping. Revolver arrived as expected and transition was painless. Real nice revolver. Light enough for easy carry and stout enough to shoot the loads you want.

December 1, 2018Waited a long time to order this particular model. It is the no lock version. I have the 642, and 637, but this is just what was needed to take the dedicated pocket carry role. Night sight as well as light weight without the seemingly delicate titanium cy

July 13, 2017What a great little snubbie! So light, feels like a toy... in a good way. .38, .38+p great! .357 is a bit harsh, but not intangible. Plan on carrying +p always, powerful and accurate for a short barrel. Sights, amazing, took a bit to get used to, shot a b
