About Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector of 1899

38 Special, 6 1/2'' barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is the earliest of the first-year production four-screw 1st Models and is in fantastic condition. The metal surfaces retain about 95% original blue with very light thinning on the backstrap with contact point and high edge wear, a few small lightly cleaned areas of oxidized pitting on the cylinder. The service hammer and trigger retain bold to lightly muted case-hardened colors overall with light operational wear and the trigger face worn to pewter. The grips are un-marked mother-of-pearl with gold S&W medallions that rate excellent. As was common on some of the earliest Model 1899's the barrel has no caliber or maker address but the barrel and all other appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun and it still times and locks as good as it did over 100 years ago. Factory records indicate this beautiful K-frame was shipped to M.W. Robinson of New York City, New York on March 31, 1899. A beautiful low number 1st Model that would make a fine addition to any collection.
