Detailed Review

Savage Arms 11 Hog Hunter is a rifle that was specifically designed for boar hunting. It’s a bolt-action rifle that has a synthetic stock and a matte black finish. The barrel is relatively short compared to other long-range rifles, measuring at 20 inches which makes it easy to maneuver in tight spaces.

The rifle has a weight of about 7 pounds, making it lightweight and easy to carry for extended hunting trips. The rifle also features Savage’s patented AccuTrigger system which allows for a clean and crisp trigger pull. This is important when precision shooting is required.

Another great feature of the Savage Arms 11 Hog Hunter is the detachable box magazine. This allows for quick and easy reloading to get back on target as quickly as possible. The magazine holds four rounds of ammunition, which is plenty for most hunting situations.

One of the best aspects of the Savage Arms 11 Hog Hunter is its accuracy. The rifle is capable of shooting sub-MOA groups straight out of the box. This means that the rifle is capable of hitting targets up to 1000 yards away with ease.

The rifle comes pre-drilled and tapped for scope mounts, allowing hunters to attach their favorite optics for improved accuracy and range. Additionally, there are sling swivels mounted on the stock for easy carrying on hunting trips.

In terms of ammunition, the rifle is chambered in .223 Remington or .308 Winchester. Both cartridges are widely available and offer excellent stopping power for boar hunting.

The rifle’s synthetic stock is durable and weather-resistant, making it ideal for hunting in all types of weather conditions. The matte black finish also helps to reduce glare, which is essential when hunting in bright sunlight.

The Savage Arms 11 Hog Hunter is an excellent choice for hunters looking for a lightweight, accurate, and reliable rifle for boar hunting. With its AccuTrigger system, detachable box magazine, and sub-MOA accuracy, it’s no wonder that this rifle is a favorite among hog hunters across the country.

My opinions on this rifle are divided. rnrnThe Good: Accurate, will shoot 1.5 MOA or better out of the box with decent to good quality factory loads (likes 155gr/168gr Hornady Black). rn Machining/Finish, good but could be better, mechanically sound and

Great gun for the price. Mine is very accurate, especially with Barnes hand loads. I'm getting sub MOA groups. It shoots Remington Core-Lokt 150 grain bullets very well too. Yes, the stock if fugly, but that's not an issue for me with a brush gun.

Bought this Hog Hunter to give the 338 Federal a try. For the price, it can't be beat. This ugly little rifle puts Federal factory ammo in 2" and smaller groups at 100 yards right out of the box. Handloads produce 1" and cloverleafs all day long. I highly

Brian C on

I purchased this rifle from Buds two years ago for my son and in that time have done some load development and watched my son take two deer with it. Starting with the obvious this is not a very pretty gun but it does have some utilitarian appeal. The barr

great rifle from right out of the box. Looks and feels great, though is a little front heavy, not enough to really complain about. The rifle feels great to shoot and using irons makes for quick shooting. The trigger feels great too. The weakest part of th

I’ve had my Hog Hunter in .308 for almost two years. The gun arrived with the rear sight laying in the bottom of the box and damaged. With the help of the FFL, I managed to salvage it. First thing I did was replace the stock with a very heavy target stock

Purchase the hog hunter on 5-5-16. Buds shipping was great. The 338 federal is a very accurate rifle. Even with reformed 308 brass it shoots clover leaf groups at 100 yards with 225gr bullets. If you are looking for a 338 caliber rifle without the big cos
