Detailed Review

The Remington 11-87 Sportsman 29879 is a semi-automatic shotgun designed for hunting and sporting purposes. The 11-87 Sportsman 29879 is part of Remington's 11-87 line of shotguns, which has been in production since 1987. It is a popular choice among hunters and sport shooters for its reliability, durability, and versatility.

The 11-87 Sportsman 29879 features a 28-inch vent-rib barrel with a matte black finish. The receiver and barrel are made of high-grade steel, while the stock and fore-end are made of durable synthetic material. The shotgun comes with a four-round magazine tube, but it can be extended to hold up to eight rounds. The 11-87 Sportsman 29879 uses a gas-operated action, which reduces recoil and allows for faster follow-up shots.

The 11-87 Sportsman 29879 is chambered for 12-gauge shells, which are one of the most common shotgun shell sizes. This makes the shotgun versatile, as it can be used for a variety of game and sporting activities. The shotgun has a modified choke, which provides a good balance between spread and range. However, the choke can be changed to suit specific shooting situations.

The 11-87 Sportsman 29879 is equipped with a number of features that make it easy to use and customize. The shotgun has a cross-bolt safety, which is located behind the trigger guard for easy access. The shotgun also has a drop-out trigger group, which allows for easy cleaning and maintenance. The stock and fore-end have checkering for a comfortable and secure grip, while the buttplate is rubberized to reduce recoil.

The 11-87 Sportsman 29879 is a reliable and durable shotgun that can handle tough conditions in the field. The shotgun has been tested extensively and has proven to be a reliable performer. The shotgun's gas-operated action reduces recoil, making it easier to shoot accurately and comfortably for extended periods of time. The shotgun is also relatively easy to maintain and customize, making it a great choice for hunters and sport shooters.

Overall, the Remington 11-87 Sportsman 29879 is a versatile and reliable shotgun that can be used for a wide range of hunting and sporting activities. Its durable construction, gas-operated action, and customizable features make it a popular choice among hunters and sport shooters.

Youth 20 GA

My son is eleven and has a hard time holding the gun, pushing the bolt release and loading a shell all at the same time. Would be fine if you had three hands. Would not recommend for youth.

Have had my Premier since 2003.

Ran at least 5000 rounds through this shotgun. The feed latch cracked after around 2500 rounds. Warranty replaced it. Feed latch came loose 2000 rounds later. Paid out of pocket to fix. After 5000+ rounds of skeet and duck hunting she still preforms beaut

Never buy a Remington

Years back, I was given some old Remington 1100s. I took up hunting with them, and they are fantastic. However, they don't fit magnum shells. Thinking Remington must still make great guns, I bought an 1187 Supermagnum. Boy was I mistaken. Darn thing broke
