Texas Jack (Mike) Harvey took grip frames and dimensions from three classic Colt revolvers, the 1878 DA, the 1877 Colt Thunderer DA and the 1st generation 1873 SAA features from these three grips were combined into the grip frame of the new Thunderer. One piece walnut grip. Forged Old Model color case hardened frame. Blued finish.

This gun is really a great shooter. I am a little disappointed in the fit and finish though. The bluing seems a little things in some spots, and there is a metal bur in the ejector rod tube that I will need to file down.

The Thunderer is a quality piece of art in my opinion. This one has the old style screw-retained cylinder pin and beautiful case hardening color on frame, hammer, and loading gate. I actually like these Cimarron/Ubertis better than the Piettas and Ruger V
