I can't express how happy I am with this 1911. This is probably the best budget 1911 neck to neck with Rock Island Armory's. I only have 1 issue with the gun in terms of quality control: the front blade sight is leaning to the right like the adhesive used

Great gun for the price! I Have ran 200 rounds of ball ammo though it no problems! This is exactly like the one I qualified with back in the day. I was able to field strip it in seconds it was like being back in the Army! Compleat enjoyment!

they can be changed but it not a easy job they use a very small (GI style) dovetail (rear sight) the front is a pined post style sight

Yes it will be fine with most JHP bullets but be aware that a lot of 1911s take about 400-500 rounds of ball ammo through them before the are Broken in and reliable (some of mine did and some worked fine from day one)

Mags?
Yes any 1911 full size .45acp mag should work but please be aware some individual1911s like some mags better than others so I try other brands one at a time
will other parts like wilson combat and other 1911
