About Smith & Wesson Model 640 Pro Series
Smith & Wesson J-Frame revolvers have had your back since 1950. These small revolvers were designed to fire a full power round and are as simple and easy to use as they are reliable. Available in various calibers and with three diverse hammer designs, it is no surprise that the Smith & Wesson J-Frame has become the most popular, small-frame, defense revolver on the market. Based on Model 40 Centennial, the Model 640 is a small frame concealed hammer revolver that packs a full-sized punch. The Model 640 Pro Series integrates the time-tested features of the original with modern advancements and competition specifications and features.

If you're looking for a reliable and high-quality revolver for self-defense, the Smith & Wesson Model 640 Pro Series should definitely be on your list.
The Model 640 Pro Series is chambered in .357 Magnum, which is a powerful cartridge that's capable of stopping threats in their tracks. However, this revolver can also shoot .38 Special ammunition, which is more affordable and easier to shoot. The barrel length is only 2.125 inches, which makes it easy to conceal and carry. Despite its small size, the Model 640 Pro Series is incredibly accurate and easy to shoot thanks to its ergonomic grip and smooth trigger pull.
One of the most distinctive features of the Model 640 Pro Series is its stainless steel construction. This revolver is built to last and can withstand years of use and abuse without any issues. The stainless steel finish also gives it a sleek and modern look that's sure to turn heads. Additionally, the Model 640 Pro Series comes with an external hammer, which allows you to choose between single-action and double-action modes, depending on your preference.
Another great feature of the Model 640 Pro Series is its night sights. These sights are designed to be visible in low light conditions, which makes them ideal for self-defense scenarios that may happen at night or in dimly lit areas. The front sight is also equipped with a tritium insert, which further enhances its visibility in low light conditions.
The Model 640 Pro Series also comes with a set of custom wood grips. These grips not only look great, but they also provide a comfortable and secure grip that's essential for accurate shooting. If you prefer, you can easily swap out the wood grips for a set of rubber or synthetic grips to better suit your needs and preferences.
In summary, the Smith & Wesson Model 640 Pro Series is an excellent revolver that's perfect for personal defense and concealed carry. Its compact size, powerful cartridge, and numerous upgraded features make it a top contender in the world of self-defense firearms. Extremely impressed with this firearm. Exactly as described in the many informational YouTube videos. Of all the J-frame .357 S&W revolvers, the 640 Pro steel-framed model from the Performance Center with the tritium night sights is the one to own.
