About Pietta Model 1851 Navy

The original Model 1851 “Yank” single-action revolver was as much a part of the Western trail as the Americans who traveled it. Wild Bill Hickok carried a pair with ivory grips during his lawman days in Abilene. The Pietta Model 1851 Navy “Yank” .36-Caliber Black Powder Revolver with brass backstrap and trigger guard celebrates the wild West. Features a steel frame with case-hardened finish, octagonal barrel and walnut grips.

Junk

After having a number of Uberti made BP revolvers I decided to try out a Pietta made revolver. Finish is amazing I will say that but that's about where the praise ends. Upon getting it home and getting it ready for cleaning the wedge will not come out. Wh

Shoots better than I do...

Cabela's finally put this on sale and I jumped on it. It's a good shooter and works just fine with my Ted Cash snail capper.

Good gun for the money.

I give this a conditional five stars. If you are going to shoot this gun a lot, you will have mechanical issues. I've had my latest one for about 4 years now, and have out many thousands of rounds through it. With the Colt design you can expect parts to b

Pietta Model 1851 Navy "Yank" .36-Caliber Black Po

I am very happy with this revolver. I own both Uberti and Pietta revolvers and out of the six I own this is the most accurate right out of the box. The bluing is nice, wood grips have nice grain but best of all is that the case hardening is beautiful. Thi

.36 cal Models' Major Design Inconvenience

I have a year old .36 cal "Yank" .36 cal 7 1/2" barrel steel frame. I also have al Brass Frame .36 cal 5 1/2" barrel model proofed this year. Fit & finish is on par with Uberti, action is smooth and both are very accurate.

A piece of living history

The 1851 Navy "Yank" looks just as nice in my hand as it did in those Spaghetti Westerns. I haven't got it to the range yet, but the action and timing are perfect- even with the Taylor & Co conversion cylinder. I really enjoy handling it and

Lots of fun, even my 13yo daughter loves it!

When I retired from the Navy, my mother-in-law bought me one as a retirement gift. Little did I know how much fun it would be. In fact, my daughter shot it for the first time a couple weeks back, after the smoke cleared, she looked at me, smiled, and said
