On thisĀ Custom Shop pistol all the sharp edges have been removed and it has the flattest 45 frame of the Kimber line. This pistol should be your carry pistol If nothing but the best will do. Detailed Review
The Kimber Ultra RCP II is a compact and lightweight handgun designed for concealed carry. With its short barrel and slim frame, it's easy to carry and conceal on a daily basis. The RCP stands for "Rounded Contour Pistol," which refers to the rounded edges of the slide and frame that make it more comfortable to carry and less likely to snag on clothing or other objects.
The Ultra RCP II has a 3-inch barrel and weighs just 25 ounces unloaded. It's available in several different calibers, including .45 ACP, 9mm, and .38 Super. The pistol features a stainless steel slide and an aluminum frame with a KimPro II finish that resists corrosion and wear. The slide has front and rear serrations for easy manipulation, and the barrel is fitted with a ramped bull barrel that improves accuracy and reliability.
The frame of the Ultra RCP II is compact and ergonomic, with a rounded trigger guard and textured G10 grip panels for a secure hold. The thumb safety and slide stop are ambidextrous, making it easy for left-handed shooters to operate the pistol. The sights are fixed low-profile tritium night sights that are easy to see in low-light conditions.
One of the unique features of the Ultra RCP II is its recoil system. Instead of using a traditional recoil spring, it uses a dual-spring system that reduces felt recoil and improves accuracy. This system also allows the slide to cycle faster and with less felt recoil, making it easier to get back on target for follow-up shots.
In terms of performance, the Ultra RCP II is a reliable and accurate handgun. Its short barrel and compact size do make it less accurate at longer ranges than full-size pistols, but it's designed for close-quarters self-defense situations where accuracy at shorter ranges is paramount.
The Ultra RCP II comes with one 7-round magazine (or one 8-round magazine for the 9mm model), and it's compatible with Kimber's extended magazines for increased capacity. It also comes with a hard plastic case, a cable lock, and a user manual.

June 8, 2017Not quite as accurate as my Kimber Gold match. Jams unless using kimber mags, odd in my opinion, but my Chip McCormick mags that work great in all other 1911s just jam in this, same for all other non kimber mags. Then there is the coating, it is really aw
