A lot of people don't like the Hi-point carbines for various reasons. Yes, they are kinda homely and bulky, that doesn't keep it from being a good carbine. I find that you get a lot of bang for the buck. Both in value and at the range. Infact I've got one

Nothing wiggles. Shoots great. Put about 300 rounds through it without any malfunctions. Don't be deterred by the Hi-Point name. Great carbine. Trigger could be better and the recoil spring plate on the butt is pointless (for a 9mm version anyway).
