Federal's Premium Law Enforcement HST line of JHP duty ammunition offers massive expansion! This duty load has a pre-skived bullet tip which causes the bullet to expand into large petals that cause a large permanent wound cavity. The unique design of this bullet actually forces the lead petals during expansion to protect the copper petals behind them. This results in increased weight retention allowing it to still achieve deep penetration through a variety of barriers prescribed by the FBI test protocols. This product is brand new, nickel plated brass-cased, boxer-primed, non-corrosive, and reloadable. This is top of the line, American-made defense ammo made by ATK (same company that makes Speer Lawman, CCI, Blazer Brass, etc). Great Round
The actual Penetration was 21",and the bounce back was 17". One thing we have to remember is that, in the human body there are bones, so therefore the bullet Penetration wouldn't be 21". That's only in Gelatin.

What .40 should be
The ballistic performance of this round brings the .40 from “short & weak” to hand cannon status. Dwarfs 10mm in expansion and penetration. Only lacking in velocity, but according to the gel tests, that doesn’t matter, bullet still performs incredibly

This is different from the regular 40 SW 180 gr HST JHP. This seems to kick more and slightly more difficult to put on target. It takes some getting used to!
