The Mariette Brevete 5 Barrel Pepperbox Percussion Pistol was made in Liege, Belgium. It was a double action percussion pistol with 5 rotating barrels. One pull of the ring trigger would rotate the barrels and an integral hammer would strike and fire the lower barrel. Its barrels, instead being bored from a single block, were screwed separately onto individual chambers milled into a rotating breechblock. The system was patented by Guillaume Mariette. This type of peperbox double action pistol was patented in 1837 and was very popular at that time. Today such Peperbox pistols cased in its original antique wooden case with full lining intact and original antique label and all tools can worth drastically more than just a pistol.
