Detailed Review
The Remington 783 (model number 85849) is a bolt-action rifle that is designed and built to deliver accuracy and reliability. The rifle features a sleek, modern design that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Its black synthetic stock is both durable and weather-resistant, making it an excellent choice for hunters and shooters who want a rifle that can handle tough outdoor conditions.
One of the standout features of the Remington 783 is its precision-made barrel. The barrel is made from high-quality carbon steel and is free-floating, which means that it does not come into contact with the stock, allowing for more consistent shots. The barrel is also button-rifled, which ensures that the bullet spins at a consistent rate as it travels down the barrel, resulting in greater accuracy.
The rifle comes equipped with Remington's CrossFire trigger system, which is adjustable for pull weight and features a smooth, crisp trigger pull. The trigger is designed to be user-friendly, with minimal creep and overtravel for maximum accuracy. The detachable box magazine is easy to load and unload, and ensures reliable feeding of cartridges.
The rifle is chambered in a variety of calibers, including .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, .308 Winchester, and 7mm Remington Magnum. This allows shooters to choose the caliber that best suits their needs, whether it be hunting small game, medium-sized game, or larger game such as elk or moose.
In addition to its performance features, the Remington 783 also has a number of design elements that make it comfortable and easy to use. The stock has a textured grip surface and an elevated cheekpiece, which provides a solid cheek weld and helps align the shooter's eye with the scope. The rifle also has a soft rubber recoil pad, which helps reduce felt recoil and makes shooting more comfortable.
Overall, the Remington 783 is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a reliable, accurate, and affordable bolt-action rifle. Its precision barrel, user-friendly trigger, and durable design make it a top choice for hunters and shooters alike.

January 14, 2018Very solid gun and impressive for the price. The scope is pretty crappy, but I think that%u2019s to be expected at this price point. Sight it in quickly....the .300wm packs a punch.

October 22, 2017The scope is really not worth much and will need to be replaced. The rifle itself is basic and you get what you pay for. Don%u2019t buy this rifle if you think the bargain is getting the glass on the weapon. The rifle is nice the glass is not.

June 16, 2015The Rifle arrived in overall new condition. Well protective packing of said firearm. I have not shot it but well made and a whole lot better then the 770 junker. I still think Mossberg Patriot a better gun but we will know more when I get it to the gun ra

May 27, 2015Much better action than the 770. The bolt is smooth and easy right out of the box. Parts are noticeably higher quality and the trigger is superb. With a few bolt-ons, this gun has the makings of an excellent woods/hunting gun.
