I believe for the price of this gun you can%u2019t beat it for its intended purpose. Being an 870 guy and this being my first mossberg shotgun, I wasn%u2019t aware that the barrels aren%u2019t interchangeable with guns of a different magazine tube length.

SABOT SLUGS
Mark, yes but .... Sabot slugs in a rifled barrel are very accurate. They will “work” but accuracy suffers and there is no reason to spend the extra money for sabot slugs if you are going to shoot them through a smooth bore.

You can. Check your local laws though. I would recommend foster or berneke style slugs with the cylinder bore on big game.

Mike, 500/590 stocks will fit the Maverick. My local gun shop sells shotgun stocks and they say that right on the box. It's the forends that don't interchange. The Maverick forend is glued onto the action arms.
