I own both of these rifles , the Whelen is mine and the Remington is my daughters, we love them , the 35 Remington was just given to my daughter for her birthday, I shot a deer at 330 yards with the 35 whelen in the heart and it fell in its tracks !!! Gre

It does not John. It comes with a 22" Chromoly Fluted Barrel with 1:14" Twist with 11 Degree Target Crown. The barrel is not threaded nor has a muzzle brake.
