Let me say one inch groups at 50 yards. The sights are very good out to 100 yards. Shot .490 round ball 60 grains pyrodex rs . At 100 4 inch groups with round ball. Sst 250 sabot 70 grains of rs powder I hit at 115 yards a 4 inch circle mimics a lung and

As most muzzle loaders a 100 yard or less gun. Plenty accurate and powerful enough for deer and FUN to shoot. I've taken 3 deer all one shot d.r.t. with it.

Tim, this rifle has a 24 inch Octagonal Barrel with a 1.48 inch Twist Rate. The Deerhunter barrels are designed to shoot full bore-sized bullets, saboted bullets and patched round balls accurately.
Tim. Yes this 1 in 48\" twist barrel will fire sabot slugs but I would stick with smooth sided projectiles and balls.
