This is my first AR, but not my first Springfield Armory product. The quality is what you would expect from Springfield. This has to be the lightest AR I have ever shot and you have to shoot it to feel how light the recoil is. The trigger is outstanding.

No difference in the rifles themselves Lanny. The 4712 just came with 30rd Magazines and the other rifle came with 10rd Magazines for restricted states.
