Detailed Review
The Smith & Wesson M69 is a double-action revolver chambered in .44 Magnum. This handgun was introduced in 2010 as a part of the company's M&P revolver series, which was designed to offer improved performance and ergonomics to law enforcement agencies and civilian shooters alike.
The M69 features a stainless steel frame and cylinder, which is both durable and resistant to corrosion. The 4.25-inch barrel has a fully adjustable rear sight, which allows for precise aiming and improved accuracy. The front sight is a ramp-style blade, which provides quick target acquisition and helps reduce glare in bright conditions.
The M69 has a capacity of five rounds and features a smooth, double-action trigger pull that allows for fast follow-up shots. The cylinder release is located on the left side of the frame and is easy to operate, even with gloves on. Additionally, the grip is designed to fit comfortably in the hand and features a soft rubber texture that provides a secure and comfortable hold, even during extended shooting sessions.
One of the main advantages of the M69 over other .44 Magnum revolvers is its compatibility with .44 Special cartridges. This makes the handgun more versatile in terms of ammunition selection, allowing users to choose between the powerful .44 Magnum round or the lighter-recoiling .44 Special, depending on their specific needs and preferences.
In terms of maintenance and cleaning, the M69 is relatively easy to disassemble and reassemble. The cylinder can be easily removed by pushing in the cylinder release and pulling it out of the frame. This allows for easy access to the barrel and cylinder for cleaning and lubrication.
Overall, the Smith & Wesson M69 is a well-designed and reliable revolver that offers excellent performance and versatility for law enforcement and civilian shooters alike.

Wanted a 44 mag for many years but didn't want the weight. L frame is perfect. Weight is the same as my 1911. Easy to carry in a pancake style holster. It does have a "kick" but it sure is a lot of fun to shoot. Thanks Smith &Wesson.

September 24, 2016S&W model 69 Great revolver
I purchased one about 1.5 years ago. I've put a lot of ammo through it and haven't had any problems at all. The kick is not near as bad as I expected even with the hot magnum loads. Feels good in the hand, well balanced, easy to aim and hit targ

Picked this up to be my sidearm for an Alaskan black bear hunt. I expected a heavy recoil with the 4.25" barrel. NOT nearly as bad as I expected. Very manageable with .44 magnum 240 gr jacketed soft point. A little adjustment to the rear sight and it
