About Savage Arms Axis SR

Axis rifles save money without sacrificing performance. Savage didn't design a cheaper rifle; they designed a better way to make a Savage, including pillar-bedded barrels with more uniform cooling and greater consistency. It is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and the black synthetic stock coupled with the 20" black carbon steel barrel make the Axis SR ready for a stake out. The SR also features a threaded muzzle - 223 has 1/2"x28" threads, 308 has 5/8"x24" threads - for easy addition of a suppressor.

Detailed Review

The Savage Arms Axis SR is a bolt-action rifle that is designed for hunting and long-range shooting. It has a sleek and modern appearance, with a black synthetic stock and a matte black finish on the barrel and receiver. The rifle is relatively lightweight, weighing in at just under 7 pounds, which makes it easy to carry on extended hunting trips.

The Axis SR is chambered in .308 Winchester, which is a popular cartridge among hunters and shooters for its versatility and accuracy. The barrel is 20 inches long and has a 1:10 twist rate, which means it can stabilize a wide range of bullet weights and types. The barrel is also threaded, which makes it easy to attach a suppressor or other muzzle device.

One of the standout features of the Axis SR is the AccuTrigger, which is a patented trigger system that allows for a crisp and clean trigger pull. The AccuTrigger is adjustable, which means you can fine-tune it to your liking. Additionally, the Axis SR has a detachable box magazine, which makes it easy to load and unload the rifle quickly.

The Axis SR also comes equipped with a Picatinny rail on the receiver, which allows you to easily attach optics such as scopes or red dot sights. The stock of the rifle is ergonomic and comfortable to hold, with a textured surface that provides a secure grip. The rifle also has sling swivel studs, which makes it easy to carry the rifle over your shoulder while hunting.

In terms of accuracy, the Axis SR delivers impressive results. The rifle has a sub-MOA guarantee, which means it is capable of shooting groups of one inch or smaller at 100 yards. This level of accuracy is due in part to the button-rifled barrel, which is crafted to precise specifications.

Overall, the Savage Arms Axis SR is a reliable and accurate rifle that is well-suited for hunting and long-range shooting. Its lightweight design and adjustable features make it a great choice for hunters who need a rifle that is easy to carry and customize to their needs.

Savage Axis Review

It’s a Savage. Even with a recoil lug that sits in the rifle instead of the action, these rifles produce fantastic groups. All 4 rifles I’ve laid my hands on will do 0.75-1.25″ groups at 100 yards all day long. There are plenty of rifles in the $1000 rang

Savage Axis HB Review: Sub MOA for sub $300?

Firing the Axis was an interesting experience. The soft rubber recoil pad did a good job taming recoil. The only onerous part of firing the rifle was the trigger. The heavy weight made it absolutely exhausting. If you check around the internet, you ca

Savage Axis XP 308 Budget Rifle Test And Review (HD)

The gun is relatively accurate specially considering the cost of the rifle. The rear of the rifle we do have a rubber but pad at the back to absorb some recoil that's pretty well. It has a good hand grip that feels comfortable. This is good gun and very f

If you are looking for a good reliable hunting rifle, then I would consider this rifle. After setting up the scope and zeroing it in at 100 yards, I was able to get a 3/4 inch shot group using Hornady Whitetail 150 grain. The trigger needed a little work,

Great gun from Savage for an awesome price. Shoots well suppressed as well. Have only put 60-70 rounds through it and so far has performed excellent for a gun in this price range. Very happy with this rifle.

I'll start by saying I absolutely love this gun, and the price just backs it up, the finish / bluing on it is a bit thin, so a little moisture or touching it with your fingers without wiping it results in minor surface rust that wipes off easily (only neg
