Detailed Review

The Savage Arms 116 is one of the most popular hunting rifles on the market. This rifle is a bolt-action firearm that is designed for long-range shooting and big game hunting. The model 116 has been in production for over 20 years, and it has undergone several upgrades and variations during this time.

The Savage 116 has a rugged synthetic stock with a recoil pad. The stock is finished in matte black to reduce glare in the field. The receiver is made from high-grade steel, which has been polished to a satin finish. The barrel is free-floating, which reduces heat buildup and increases accuracy.

The rifle comes with a detachable box magazine, which allows for quick and easy reloading. The magazine has a capacity of four rounds for standard calibers and three rounds for magnum caliber cartridges. The trigger is adjustable, and it has a crisp and clean break that is ideal for precision shooting. The trigger pull weight can be adjusted between 1.5 and 6lbs.

The Savage 116 is available in several different calibers, including .270, .30-06, and .308 Winchester. These calibers are popular for big-game hunting, and they offer a good balance of power and accuracy. The rifle can also be chambered in magnum cartridges like the 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .338 Winchester Magnum.

The accuracy of the Savage 116 is impressive, thanks to its AccuTrigger system. This system is designed to provide a crisp and clean trigger pull that reduces shot jerk and flinching. The AccuTrigger also allows the shooter to adjust the trigger pull weight and overtravel, which can help improve accuracy even further.

The rifle has a three-position safety that allows the shooter to operate the rifle in three different modes: safe, fire, and bolt locked. The safety is located near the back of the receiver, making it easy to access and operate with the shooter's thumb. The bolt is also easy to operate, thanks to its smooth action and oversized handle.

Overall, the Savage 116 is an excellent hunting rifle that is built to last. Its rugged construction and reliable performance make it a favorite among hunters and shooting enthusiasts. Whether you're hunting big game in the mountains or hitting the range for some long-range shooting, the Savage 116 is a rifle that won't disappoint.
