Detailed Review

The Ruger American Rifle All-Weather Compact is a reliable hunting rifle designed for tough weather conditions. It is a rugged and durable rifle that can withstand harsh weather and rough handling, making it an ideal choice for hunters who need a dependable firearm in any environment.

This rifle has a synthetic stock that is impervious to water, so it will not warp or swell when exposed to moisture. The stock also features a soft rubber recoil pad that helps reduce felt recoil, making it more comfortable to shoot. The barrel is made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust and corrosion, ensuring that the rifle will maintain its accuracy even in wet or humid conditions.

The Ruger American Rifle All-Weather Compact is chambered in .308 Winchester, a versatile and popular hunting cartridge that is suitable for medium to large game. The rifle has a 16.5-inch barrel that is threaded for a suppressor or muzzle brake, allowing you to customize it to your preferences. The rifle also features a single-stage trigger that is adjustable for weight, ensuring that you can achieve a consistent and crisp trigger pull every time.

The rifle has a detachable magazine that holds four rounds of .308 Winchester ammunition. The magazine release is located in front of the trigger guard, making it easy to access and operate with gloves on. The rifle also has a tang safety that is easy to engage and disengage, ensuring that you can quickly and safely load and unload the rifle.

The Ruger American Rifle All-Weather Compact is designed for portability, with an overall length of just 36 inches and a weight of 6.2 pounds. This makes it an excellent choice for hunters who need a rifle that is easy to carry and maneuver in tight spaces, such as tree stands or brushy areas.

In conclusion, the Ruger American Rifle All-Weather Compact is a dependable and rugged hunting rifle that can withstand harsh weather and rough handling. With its synthetic stock, stainless steel barrel, and versatile cartridge, it is an excellent choice for hunters who need a reliable firearm in any environment.

Great Value

I have the American Compact in both .308 and .243 both have Nikon Prostaff scopes, and I can attest to the fact that both rifles will produce 1/2" groups off the bench at 100 yards. The .308 likes the Barnes Vortec 150 grain TSX, and the .243 likes W

Great Gun

AWESOME RIFLE!!!!! My dad got this rifle for me for Christmas. I hunted with it without siting in the scope that I got for it. I killed a 9 point buck with one shot. Shot the buck directly in the heart first shot. GREAT GUN!!!!!!!!!

Outstanding value

Have this chambered in 243 win. Overall its an excellent rifle and would make a great starter rifle for a young hunter. I got it for my son to use as a starter rifle. We both like it so much we won't part with it. I find that the light weight and short ba

Daughter's first rifle

I bought the Ruger American Compact in .308 for my 12 year old daughter for her first hunting season. We put a Leupold VX-1 2-7x33 on it and she is shooting Hornady custom lite 125gr SST out of it. This rifle is a dream to shoot and she loves it. it's ove

Fun gun to shoot in 223

For the price, the Ruger American Rifle (RAR) deserves 5 stars had Ruger done a better job of quality control. I picked up a RAR in .223 Rem about two weeks ago. It was topped with a compact 3-9 optic. About 300 rounds have been put through it so far.

Great Youth or Small Framed Shooter

Bought this for my wife and son who are both rather small framed and shoulders for them much better than the other youth models out there including the savage and weatherby (hurts me to say as I am a weatherby guy). Would definitely recommend to anyone ge

7mm-08 w/ Redfield

I bought this rifle for my wife to do her first shooting and hunting with. The selling point for me was the price point and 100% american made. I think this is an easy choice over the competition, which I compared many.

strong value

I own many rifles of many makes. Picked this up to try something in 7MM 08 for my son. The trigger is better than expected, really quite good. Reliability has been perfect. Accuracy is acceptable. After trying 4 loads it has ranged from 4 inches to 1.5 in

Superb economy priced rifle

This is by far the nicest entry level economy priced rifle I have seen yet. Great adjustable trigger, smooth bolt (can't bind it if you tried) extremely accurate. I chose the 7mm-08 cartridge. Chose the compact version as a tree stand/walking rifle. Shoot

Disappointed

After reading good reviews I purchased this rifle for my daughter. At home while cleaning it before sighting in I noticed a lot of plastic used where it shouldn't be. Plastic does not belong on the bolt, not thrilled with the magazine either. This is not
