Detailed Review

The Ruger 77/357 is a lever-action repeating rifle that was introduced to the shooting market in 2011. This rifle is unique because it is chambered in .357 Magnum which is typically a revolver cartridge. The rifle's namesake, the Ruger Model 77, refers to the bolt-action rifle that the company has been producing since the 1960s.

The 77/357 is built on a larger receiver than the standard 77 rifles to accommodate the longer .357 Magnum cartridges. It also features a detachable rotary magazine that holds 5 rounds of ammunition. The rifle has a heavy barrel that is free floated and has a 1-in-16" rate of twist. The barrel is topped with a set of iron sights, but the rifle also has a scope base installed for the shooter who prefers an optic.

The rifle's stock is made of black synthetic material that is both weather-resistant and durable. The stock has a rubber recoil pad that helps tame the recoil of the .357 Magnum cartridge. The rifle has a length of pull of 13.50 inches, making it comfortable for most shooters to shoulder and aim.

One of the unique features of the 77/357 is its lever-action design. The lever on the rifle is smooth and easy to operate, making shooting the rifle fast and fun. The rifle has a cross-bolt safety that is easily accessible with the thumb of the shooter's firing hand. The trigger on the rifle is also adjustable for weight of pull, allowing the shooter to tailor the rifle to their specific preferences.

The 77/357 is a versatile rifle that can be used for a variety of purposes. Its chambering in .357 Magnum makes it a great choice for hunting small to medium-sized game like whitetail deer or feral hogs. The rifle is also well-suited for plinking and target shooting, as the .357 Magnum cartridge is accurate and fun to shoot.

All in all, the Ruger 77/357 is a unique and well-made rifle that offers a lot of shooting enjoyment. Its design combines the classic look of a lever-action rifle with the modern features that shooters demand. Whether you are a hunter, plinker, or target shooter, the Ruger 77/357 is definitely worth considering.

Over all, this is a great firearm. It is very light but even with full house loads in the 357 Magnum it is very comfortable to shoot. Shooting the 38 Special cartridge puts it down to felt recoil levels not much above 22 LR. I have not accuracy tested

I was very excited to own the only bolt action .38 / .357 on the market, but it didn't work out. Ruger's customer service was top notch, but after sending it back to the factory four times, they just could not fix the feeding issue. They were nice enough

Excellent gun. Just what I wanted. Iron sights are a little off center (as in the barrel is rotated). I've got a scope on it so it doesnt matter.

In over 60 years of collecting/shooting/reloading firearms, this sweet little carbine M77/357 is my favorite. So versatile for a handy, yet semi-powerful, weatherproof, shop/truck/backdoor gun for quick use around the property. Very fun for target, and gr

Is this actually in stock or is it a mistake?

Unknown 5 years ago

They sometimes get new old stock from distributors. The price of the pistol caliber m77s made them slow sellers, so there are still some new left out there.
