About Remington 700 SPS Tactical

Built on the proven Remington® Model 700®, the SPS™ Tactical Bolt-Action Rifle has all the features you need for tactical shooting situations, as well as hardcore varmint and predator hunting. At the heart of the SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic) is the famous Model 700 action that encloses the cartridge head in 3 rings of steel: the recessed bolt face, the chamber end of the barrel, and the front receiver ring. This design provides inherent strength while holding the cartridge in precise alignment with the bore for exceptional accuracy. The Model 700's action has been proven for reliability in combat for years with the U.S. Army's M24 sniper rifle. The SPS tactical rifle comes with a Hogue Over-molded stock with a wide, flat fore-end that rests solidly on sandbags or a tactical pack. The Hogue stock has a rubber exterior that provides an excellent gripping surface in any type of weather and is relatively quiet when knocked against objects. The barreled receiver is bedded with dual aluminum pillars, and the heavy-contoured barrel is free-floated, providing excellent accuracy and minimal shift in zero caused by changes in the environment. Barrel and receiver have a non-reflective black oxide finish to aid the shooter in concealment. An externally adjustable X-Mark Pro® trigger allows shooters to find the desired pull according to their preference. The 2-position safety at the rear of the action is quick to operate with the thumb, and can also be gripped with the forefinger and thumb and moved extra quietly to the fire position. The bolt knob has 2-panel checkering for a non-slip hold while cycling the action. The Remington Model 700 SPS Tactical Bolt-Action Rifle has a hinged floorplate for safe and easy unloading of the magazine, and comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

Detailed Review

The Remington 700 SPS Tactical is a bolt-action rifle designed for long-range accuracy and precision. It features a heavy-contour barrel that is threaded for a suppressor, making it an ideal choice for hunting or shooting in urban environments where noise reduction is desirable. The stock is made of synthetic material, which makes it lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant.

The rifle has a length of approximately 39.63 inches and a weight of 7.5 pounds, which makes it easy to carry around when hunting. It is chambered for .308 Winchester, a popular round among hunters and tactical shooters. It can also be chambered for other calibers, such as .223 Remington and 6.5 Creedmoor, depending on the user's preference.

One of the key features of the Remington 700 SPS Tactical is its adjustable trigger. The X-Mark Pro trigger can be adjusted from 2.5 to 5 pounds, which allows users to customize their trigger pull to their liking. This results in better accuracy and consistency with each shot.

The rifle also has a hinged floorplate magazine, which allows for quick and easy reloading. The magazine can hold up to four rounds, depending on the caliber being used. The action is also smooth and reliable, thanks to the 700 series design that has been around for decades.

The Remington 700 SPS Tactical has a Picatinny rail on top of the receiver, which makes it easy to mount a scope or other accessories. It also has sling swivel studs that allow for the attachment of a sling or bipod, making it easier to shoot from a prone position or rest the rifle on a solid surface.

In terms of accuracy, the Remington 700 SPS Tactical does not disappoint. It is capable of shooting sub-MOA (minute of angle) groups at 100 yards, meaning it can consistently hit targets within a one-inch diameter at that distance. This level of accuracy is achieved through a combination of factors, including the heavy barrel, adjustable trigger, and high-quality manufacturing.

In conclusion, the Remington 700 SPS Tactical is a reliable, accurate, and versatile rifle that is suitable for a variety of shooting applications. It is built to withstand harsh weather conditions and is easy to carry around when hunting. With its adjustable trigger, hinged floorplate magazine, Picatinny rail, and sling swivel studs, it is also highly customizable to meet the needs of individual shooters. Whether you are a hunter or a tactical shooter, the Remington 700 SPS Tactical is a rifle worth considering.

Love this Rifle!! Had to reload to get the bullets to go into one hole at 100yrds but I did it! Mounted a Nikon scope on top and on a good day it will make one ragged hole at 100yards. I haven't mounted a brake on the threaded barrel and probably won't be

I bought this 300 AAC bolt action at a local Academy store, along with a Savage 308 and a second 300 AAC from Ruger, to pit them head to head. The shooting is all done, and the review is upcoming. Odd outcome: The Remington performed horribly with Remingt

I bought this rifle at Academy about a year ago and it is one of the best handling and shooting rifles I own. I've taken multiple Whitetail and Axis deer with this gun and at the range it'll shoot 1 MOA if you're capable. The only reason it

Rifle is made well and shoots well. Quality is fine. I had to ding it for one issue, it simply needs to go on a diet. If you are an all day hunter, this will be too heavy. If you are stationary, it probably won't be an issue for you. If you are wanting a

Boy did I have problems with this rifle. Lets start with the bad and finish with the good. First, the darn thing would just not feed reliably with all 300 blackout brands of ammo. Ironically, Remington brand ammo was the worst. Would barely feed. Especial

There is no better or more accurate out of the box rifle than a Remington 700 rifle. This specific rifle has a very nice Hogue stock and the threaded barrel makes for easy on/off of suppressors. The X-mark trigger is a clean crisp trigger that is adjustab

Extremely fun gun to shoot! Great entry level rifle with it's stock set up, and can easily be improved with some change outs here and there. I purchased it as a practice rifle and the 5/8 pre threaded barrel helped seal the deal for an incoming can purcha
