Detailed Review

The Pedersoli Traditional Hawken Flintlock rifle is a classic American muzzleloader. It has been designed to recreate the style and function of the original 19th century Hawken rifles, which were renowned for their accuracy and reliability. This modern replica is manufactured by Davide Pedersoli, an Italian company that specializes in producing high-quality reproductions of historical firearms.

The Hawken rifle was first introduced in the 1820s by brothers Samuel and Jacob Hawken, who operated a gun shop in St. Louis, Missouri. The rifle quickly gained a reputation for its accuracy and was widely used by frontiersmen and fur trappers in the American West. The Pedersoli Traditional Hawken Flintlock is a faithful reproduction of this iconic firearm.

The rifle features a 28-inch octagonal barrel that is made of high-quality steel with a blued finish. The stock is made of American walnut and features a brass patch box and brass hardware. The rifle also comes with adjustable iron sights and a double-set trigger for improved accuracy.

The Pedersoli Traditional Hawken Flintlock is designed to be used with black powder and patched round balls. The rifle has a .54-caliber bore, which is suitable for hunting big game such as deer and elk. The flintlock ignition system provides a traditional touch and gives the rifle a classic look and feel.

Great for starting out

I grew up with rifles, but also grew up watching Davy Crockett, so of course like all of us when we finally have a real income it's time to fulfill that childhood dream of owning a flintlock. I settled on this Hawken in .54 and have been pleased with it.

I bought this flintlock in August and sighted it in at 50 yards. I was able to produce a 1 inch group centered 2 inches above dead center using nothing but round ball and 90 grains of FFG black powder. This is an outstanding flintlock rifle! I would recom

Defective - Expect It to Need Repairs On Delivery

I have not attempted to load or fire this gun yet... and I am not sure I even want to attempt it now... When I first examined this gun one of the first things i did was to open the brass patch box lid and to my dismay it stuck in the open position....

To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I took my new Hawken out to the range last weekend for a test run and was blown away by the accuracy. Using 245 gr. conicals with 80 gr. FF black powder as a starting load, I was amazed when I walked out
