Most common barrel lengths were: 24 inches (4,321 rifles made), 26 inches (264 rifles made) and 28 inches (198 rifles made). Only 25 rifles with 20 inch barrel were made and only 1 rifle were made with 16, 22, 30 and 44 inch barrel. Serial numbers and year of pruduction: 1888 (19,559 to 22,340), 1889 (20,389 to 27,854). The Marlin Model 1888 was top ejection, improved small-action rifle.
