Detailed Review
The Inland M1 1944 is a semi-automatic carbine that was used by the United States military during World War II and the Korean War. It was designed to be lightweight and easy to use, making it a popular choice among soldiers in the field.
The M1 is chambered for the .30 carbine cartridge and has a 15-round detachable box magazine. It weighs just over 5 pounds and is only 35.6 inches long, which makes it easy to maneuver through tight spaces and carry for extended periods of time. The M1 also features an adjustable rear sight and a front sight protected by two ears.
The Inland M1 was manufactured by a number of different companies during World War II, including Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors, Winchester Repeating Arms Company, and Underwood Typewriter Company. Of these companies, Inland produced the most M1 Carbines with over 2.6 million units made.
During World War II, the M1 became a popular weapon among US soldiers due to its reliability, accuracy, and ease of use. It was often used by airborne troops as well as by soldiers in tank crews, mortar and machine gun squads, and by officers who needed a lightweight weapon for personal protection.
In addition to its use by the US military, the Inland M1 was also used by various other countries, including South Vietnam, South Korea, and Israel. It was also frequently used by law enforcement agencies and civilians as a hunting rifle or for self-defense purposes.
Overall, the Inland M1 1944 is a reliable and versatile weapon that played an important role in American military history. Its compact size and ease of use ensured its continued popularity even after World War II and it remains a favorite among collectors and gun enthusiasts today.

M1 carbines are great little plinkers and powerful enough for most uses, but the price of original GI rifles has spiraled out of control in the last few years. Good ones sell for north of a grand, and way north for paratrooper models and all-original guns
