Detailed Review
The Winchester Model 1886 Deluxe is a lever-action rifle that was introduced in 1886. It was designed by John Browning and was produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The rifle was known for its strength, accuracy, and reliability, making it a favorite among hunters and shooters alike.
The Model 1886 was originally built to handle cartridges such as the .45-70 Govt., .45-90 WCF, .40-82 WCF, and .38-56 WCF. This meant that the rifle could handle some of the more powerful cartridges of the time, which made it an excellent choice for hunting big game like bear and elk.
The Deluxe version of the Model 1886 was specially designed for wealthy hunters who wanted a rifle that was both functional and stylish. The rifle featured a high-grade walnut stock with checkering on the grip and fore-end. The fore-end also had a schnabel tip, which gave the rifle a unique look. The receiver and other metal parts were finished in a highly polished blue, which added to the rifle's aesthetic appeal.
The rifle also featured a half-octagon barrel, which further enhanced its appearance. The barrel was 24 inches long, which made the rifle relatively compact and easy to maneuver in tight hunting situations. The sights on the rifle consisted of a blade front sight and an adjustable rear sight, which allowed for more accurate shooting at longer ranges.
The Model 1886 Deluxe was chambered in several popular cartridges of the time, including the .38-56 WCF, .45-70 Govt., and .40-82 WCF. These cartridges were capable of generating a lot of energy, which made the rifle a great choice for hunting large game. The rifle was also very accurate, which made it suitable for competition shooting as well.
The Winchester Model 1886 Deluxe remained in production until 1935, and today it is a highly sought-after rifle among collectors and hunters alike. Its combination of beauty and function make it one of the most iconic rifles of its time.

June 10, 2017Both of your rifles are beautiful. I love how the cases fly out of that Winchester. I’ve been saving up for a Marlin 45/70 but after seeing this video I may save a bit longer and go with a Winchester.

January 15, 2017Sometimes I wish I lived in America so I could just be able to shoot and enjoy those open spaces. Hearing that 45-70 echo through the desert would of been an orgasm to the ears!
