Detailed Review
The Weatherby Vanguard Adaptive Composite (VAC) is a rifle that combines the best of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship. It is designed to be a versatile, lightweight, and accurate firearm that can handle a variety of shooting situations.
At the heart of the VAC is a Weatherby Vanguard action, which has been a trusted platform for hunters and shooters for decades. The action is made from machined steel and features a one-piece bolt with three locking lugs, ensuring reliable and smooth operation. The bolt handle is oversized and easy to operate, even with gloves on.
The stock of the VAC is where the real innovation lies. It is made from a proprietary composite material that is designed to be extremely strong and lightweight. This material is also impervious to weather and temperature changes, making it an ideal choice for hunters and shooters who need a rifle that can handle any condition.
The stock features a unique grip design that allows for a comfortable and secure hold on the rifle, even in wet or slippery conditions. The forend of the stock has a series of ports that allow for the attachment of modular accessories, such as Picatinny rails, sling swivels, and other tactical gear. The stock also has a series of molded-in ridges that provide additional grip and texture, further enhancing the shooter's control over the rifle.
The VAC comes with a cold hammer-forged barrel that is made from high-quality stainless steel. The barrel is free-floating, which means that it does not touch the stock, allowing it to vibrate freely and maximizing accuracy. The barrel is also coated with a special finish that provides extra protection against corrosion and wear.
The trigger of the VAC is adjustable, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the pull weight and take-up to their preference. The trigger is crisp and clean, with no creep or overtravel, which helps to ensure accurate shot placement. The VAC also has a three-position safety that allows the shooter to choose between a fully safe position, a fire position with the bolt locked, and a fire position with the bolt unlocked but the trigger blocked.
The VAC is available in a variety of calibers, from the mild .223 Remington all the way up to the powerful .300 Winchester Magnum. No matter what caliber you choose, the VAC is sure to provide excellent accuracy and reliability, making it a great choice for hunters, shooters, and tactical professionals alike.

I guess this is Weatherby's answer to the Browning's X-Bolt McMillian, but at half the cost? I wish this rifle was made before I bought the Vanguard S2 back in 2013.
