About Traditions Trapper Percussion

Most of the early mountain men and traders carried a single-barrelled pistol and they were popular for years. These pistols had proven themselves reliable, and that was of great importance to a trapper who might have to stake his life on a pistol's ability to provide a back-up shot in what could be a desperate situation. The Trapper pistol's primitive-style adjustable rear sight, octagonal barrel and double set triggers (capable of firing set or unset) allow you to predictably put your shots on target. This particular pistol is .50 caliber and has a 9-3/4 inches octagonal blued barrel. It is 15-1/2 inches length and has a select hardwood stock.

Detailed Review

The Traditions Trapper Percussion is a unique and versatile firearm that is perfect for hunting, camping, or simply enjoying the great outdoors. This percussion rifle is designed with the classic styling of an American long rifle, but it is made to be more compact and easy to handle. The Trapper is a lightweight firearm that is perfect for those who need to carry their gun over long distances.

The Trapper comes with a 24-inch barrel that is made of blued steel. The stock and forend are made of select hardwood, which gives this firearm a classic look and feel. The Trapper also features a brass trigger guard and buttplate, adding to its traditional styling.

One of the most notable features of the Trapper is its percussion action. This type of action relies on a hammer striking a percussion cap that ignites the powder charge in the rifle’s chamber. This system is simple, reliable, and easy to maintain. Additionally, the Trapper’s percussion system is much safer than older flintlock firearms, as there is no risk of sparks igniting powder outside of the chamber.

The Trapper is chambered in .50 caliber and is capable of firing both round balls and conical bullets. It has a fixed rear sight and a blade front sight, which helps to ensure accuracy at longer ranges. The rifle also has a smoothbore barrel, which allows it to fire shot loads for small game hunting.

The Trapper is a versatile firearm that can be used for a variety of purposes. Its lightweight and compact design make it perfect for hunting in thick brush or for carrying on long hikes. The rifle’s percussion action is reliable and easy to use, making it a popular choice among outdoorsmen who prefer traditional firearms.

If you are looking for a firearm with classic styling and modern reliability, the Traditions Trapper Percussion is an excellent choice. Its lightweight design, reliable percussion action, and versatile capabilities make it an ideal firearm for any outdoor enthusiast.

Extremely Accurate and Reliable

Of course, this is not a revolver, despite what the company has titled it. It is a single shot pistol. I purchased this pistol about 2 years ago and have shot in competition twice a month ever since and I place either at the top or close on a regular basi

If one is good, two is better!

A friend bought two of these, but never got around to putting them together. Well, I lightened his load and my wallet, bought them and assembled them pronto. Since then, shooting these jewels has never grown old! Love that aroma of black powder, percussio
