Detailed Review

The Thompson Pro Hunter is a versatile single-shot rifle that was first introduced by Thompson Center Arms in 1997. The Pro Hunter is based on the company's Encore design but offers a wider range of calibers and barrel options.

One of the key features of the Pro Hunter is its interchangeable barrel system, which allows users to easily switch out barrels to accommodate a wide range of hunting scenarios. The Pro Hunter is available in a variety of calibers, from .22-250 to .45-70 Government. Additionally, there are several barrel options available, including standard length and pistol-length barrels, as well as stainless steel and blued finish options.

Another notable feature of the Pro Hunter is its FlexTech stock, which is designed to absorb recoil and reduce muzzle jump. The stock features soft-touch inserts in the grip and forend for added comfort, and is available in a variety of colors and finishes.

The Pro Hunter also features an adjustable trigger and an ambidextrous hammer extension, making it comfortable for both left- and right-handed shooters. The rifle also has a scope mount that is compatible with Weaver-style rings, making it easy to attach a scope.

Overall, the Thompson Pro Hunter is a versatile, reliable and accurate rifle that is ideal for a wide range of hunting scenarios. Its combination of interchangeable barrels, adjustable trigger, and FlexTech stock make it a great choice for hunters who want a rifle that can handle any situation.

So I picked one of these up and loved the way it felt . Bought it and put a 2x7 Nikon Monarch on it . took it to the range and immediately had trouble cocking because the hammer is way to close to the scope. My advice is if you buy get higher rings, Secon

Best muzzleloader I've owned

Very accurate gun, it likes BH 209 and federal B.O.R locked bullets it shoots Barnes ammo really well but it loads VERY hard (actually bent my ramrod) but with the federals it shoots and loads flawlessly killed the biggest buck of my life with it, prices

Damaged... new out of the box

Thompson Center Pro Hunter FX: The hammer wouldn't cock and hold, and upon closer inspection the hammer was visibly bent to one side. This was right out of the box. The quality of firearms these days is pitiful, even with products that aren't considered l

Very Disappointed

I am a very loyal Cabelas customer and this was by far my most disappointing purchase. I was excited to receive this rifle and quickly mounted and bore sighted my scope. Off to the Gun Club with just three days before muzzleloader season opened. I could n

My buddy and I both bought the Thompson FX and the gun shot 1" groups @ 100 yards. My friends gun shot extreme accurate @ 150, 200, 250 & 300 yards with black horn 209 powder and Hornady 250 SST Low Drags. I was very impressed so that's why I had

TREMENDOUS IMPROVEMENTS

My Omega was sent back to the factory for adjustments (which turned out to very minor), But I was nervous about not having a gun for the oncoming deer season so I upped to the Pro Hunter

Junk sights

Very disappointed. Have been to the range 3 times, and it shoots all over the place. The sights are bright fiberoptics, but the set screws that are supposed to be used to adjust the rear sight are junk. I have better sights on my RWS pellet gun. Checked w

Big disappointment

Odered the Pro Hunter FX, Cabela's Powderhorn scope. Took the rifle to the range, swabbed the barrel, fired 2 primers to make sure all was ok. First primer was fine, 2nd primer fired, and jammed up in the speed breech. Cabela's offered to send a replaceme

Good Muzzleloader

I haven't shot, touched or even seen this rifle. I will get the opportunity in late spring. My 37 year old TC Renegade continues to send lead down range but my eyes don't appreciate iron sights like they used to. I anticipate adding a scope with help comp

Accurrate & Deadly

My previous smoker was a Knight, which I used for many years. Decided to update to a T/C rifle and purchased one 2 yrs. ago @ cabelas store in PA. I've topped it w/a 4X12X40mm scope, and shoot 50cal. in 240gr. sabots w/100 gr. powder. I hunt in New Jersey

Thompson/Center Pro Hunter™ FX Muzzleloader-Weathe

The only complaint that I have is the hammer. I mounted the scope and the hammer was postioned to the side but it is very hard to cock it due to the hammer area that one uses to pull it back is way to short. For Marlin rifles there are some after market h

very accurate

At first I would not have given this a 1 star. You have to use blackhorn 209 powder other wise plan on swabbing after every shot.im using hornady low drag sabots and shootin one after another and happy again.
