Detailed Review

The H&R 1871 Hunter is a reliable and versatile shotgun that has become a popular choice among hunters and shooters alike. Produced by the Harrington & Richardson Arms Company (H&R), the Hunter is known for its quality craftsmanship, durability, and accuracy.

The Hunter is available in several different models, including pump-action, single-shot, and semi-automatic. Each model boasts its own unique features, but all of them share a few key characteristics that make them stand out from other shotguns on the market.

One of the most notable features of the Hunter is its barrel. Made from high-quality steel, the barrel is designed to withstand heavy use and provide consistent performance over time. The length of the barrel varies depending on the model, but most Hunters have barrels that measure between 20 and 24 inches in length.

Another important feature of the Hunter is its stock. The stock is typically made from wood or synthetic materials and is designed to provide a comfortable and secure grip for the shooter. The length of the stock can be adjusted to fit the shooter's individual needs, which makes it a great choice for hunters and shooters of all sizes.

The Hunter also comes with a variety of safety features that help to prevent accidental discharge and keep the shooter safe while using the gun. These safety features include a trigger safety, a manual safety, and a hammer safety. Additionally, most models of the Hunter come with a built-in recoil pad, which helps to reduce felt recoil and make shooting more comfortable.

The Hunter is known for its accuracy and versatility. It is capable of firing a wide range of ammunition, including birdshot, buckshot, and slugs. This makes it a great choice for hunting a variety of game, from small birds to large deer. It is also a popular choice for skeet shooting and other shooting sports.

Overall, the H&R 1871 Hunter is a reliable and versatile shotgun that has earned a solid reputation among hunters and shooters. Whether you are looking for a reliable hunting shotgun or a versatile firearm for shooting sports, the Hunter is definitely worth considering.

I bought this gun last year just before deer season. In Mississippi you can use it during primitive weapons which I did. The best part of this was I killed two deer with it and I didn't have a single misfire. Love this gun for those 100 yard or less shots.
