About 22 LR - 40 Grain LRN - Federal Champion - 800 Rounds

Real shooters will practice their aim on empty bottles, paper targets and squirrels with nothing less than the 700 Nitro Express. But at around $70 per cartridge, firing the 700 Nitro can get a little … well, let’s just say your mortgage lender better have a laid back approach to their business. Smart shooters prefer more economical ammo for plinking and casual varmint hunting. You’re smart, which is why you’ll love this brick of 800 22 LR cartridges by Federal Premium. This round has the elemental 22 LR bullet: the lead round nose. It has no copper plating that increases production costs, is made of solid, uniform lead, sports a ballistically efficient profile, and still delivers a decent amount of impact energy despite being incapable of terminal expansion. This round’s bullet weighs 40 grains – the norm for 22 LR. At that weight the bullet still achieves supersonic velocity out of a muzzle’s rifle, so its trajectory is flat and its chamber pressure is adequate to cycle a semi-auto like the Ruger 10/22 or an AR-15. This ammo’s non-corrosive primers and clean-burning propellant tend to reliable ignition. Its brass cases, which possesses uniform rim thickness, wall concentricity and length, are designed to support smooth feeding and ejection in any firearm. Its bullets have standardized weights for consistent ballistic performance. Federal Premium has operated out of Anoka, Minnesota since Warren G. Harding was in office. They’ve revolutionized a lot about the ammo industry in nearly 100 years, and in that time they’ve mastered the art of creating value without needlessly inflating their production costs.

Acceptable results for intended use.

So, the ammo feeds reliably in all of my 22's, and doesn't leave excess fouling behind. Accuracy is acceptable. It's very useful for the range. Now, there are a lot of 2nd and rare 3rd strikes to fire off the primer as well as about a 6% of partial duds

Good product

I have only fired 100 rounds since receipt of the product, I had two misfires and two FTE. not great but because of the cost it allowed me to get back to the range for the first time in 10 months. I would buy it again.

Overall great service

Affordable and prompt, the only thing I found was that the box was open, some loose ammo, needs a a little more attention to packaging.

No Problems

I recently purchased the 800 bulk (1st time bulk purchase). I was a bit apprehensive. Tandomkross modified Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite, outdoors, and at the range plinking away. 400 rounds ish over a few days… no cleaning. 2 malfunctions! I’m ok w

If you don't mind malfunctions...

The price per round is great. That's where the benefits stop. I have shot 400 rounds of the 800 box through a Glock 44 and I have yet to go through a 10 round mag without at least 1 malfunction (round doesn't get ejected, get's caught on the way out, does

Affordable but had problems with my Glock 44

This ammo would fire fine, but almost 30% of the time would not eject the brass. It got jammed. Might just be with my gun, but be aware! I have not had problems with other brands.

Ordering, shipping and cost was excellent, no problems at all.

The only issue was the UPS person dropped off product at my neighbors house, all else was excellent.

Order filled

Order filled promptly; however, paid for special packaging and the 22LR box arrived with the 9’s and the 22lr box was split open and at least 50 22lr rounds were loose in the box. Very poor packaging.
