E. Allen & Co. was manufacturing the 22 Center Hammer Single Shot pistol in Worchester, Massachusetts from 1861. The 22 Center Hammer Single Shot pistol was a single-shot breach loading (swing barrel loader) pistol with an articulated ejector. It was made with a 2" - 5.5" part round/part octagonal barrel, with an iron frame in blued or plated finish with a spur trigger and walnut birds head grips. It is marked “E. Allen & Co Worcester Mass. Allen’s Pat. Mch. 7. 1865 on the left side of barrel.
