James Purdey & Sons Over & Under Gun 12GA28"
Available with double triggers and automatic safety catch, or with 3" magnum chamber. Actions are available in either conventional square bar, round bar or ultra round bar shape. Stock comes in straight, semi or full pistol grip. The Purdey side by side action patented in 1880 is still made now with only very minor changes. A back action interceptor seer lock. Built on the Woodward patent acquired by Purdey in 1949. The mechanism has undergone little change since then."All Purdey barrels, both SxS and O/U, are of chopper lump construction.Each individual tube is hand filed and then "struck up" using striking files. This gives the tube the correct Purdey profile with wall thickness tollerance of .001". Purdey Slakum finish is an oil finish, unique to Purdeys and is made up in house from linseed oil, beeswax and driers. Stock is made of Turkish walnut.
