Retolaza Hermanos 1914 Automatic Pistol

The 1914 Automatic Pistol is a blowback operated single action semi-automatic pistol made by Retolaza Hermanos from 1915-1918 in Eibar, Spain. The left side of the slide is marked “7.65 1914 Automatic Pistol /"RETOLAZA" EIBAR/33795. The Retolaza brothers began work in the 1890s, making the inevitable Velo-Dog pocket revolvers, and circumstantial evidence suggests that they were among the pioneers of automatic pistol production in Eibar. The Retolaza Brothers produced a variety of velodog pistols under the names Brompetier, Puppy, Velo-Brom, and Velo-Mith, many intended for sale in France.
