Ortgies & Co. Pocket Pistol
he Ortgies pistol was designed by Heinrich Ortgies while he was living in Liege, Belgium during World War I. Heinrich Ortgies started to make Ortiges pistol immediately after World War I in his own factory Ortgies & Company in Erfurt, Germany. He made approximately 16,000 pistols in 7.65mm and than he subcontracted Deutsche Werke to make pistol. Earliest Deutsche Werke made pistols have serial number 16110 of higher. All 9mm Ortgies pistols are made by Deutsche Werke.
