The Bushmaster Gas Piston System Rifles bring new levels of reliability to the “AR” type rifle platform by eliminating carbon build up, gas leaks and heat within the Upper Receiver. The Gas Piston System operates by tapping gas pressure off the barrel much like the systems found on AK-47s and FALs * Functions with a wider range of ammunition - less gas pressure - lower cyclic rate * Offers improved reliability and control - with cleaner operation and reduced recoil * Keeps carbon build up and powder residue from reaching - and fouling the Upper Receiver and Bolt Carrier * A Detented Plug in the Gas Block allows easy cleaning of the Systems’ Hard Chrome Plated Piston

ZEV CORE Rifles are intended for serious shooters and represent the commitment to design, feel, performance that ZEV is known for. This rifle features the high quality and aesthetics of ZEV rifle products with a combination of traditional mil-spec controls and functional upgrades that deliver excellent performance in the field or on the range. Now available in a featureless configuration for California compliance. ZEV forged upper and lower receivers precision machined from 7075-T6 aluminum for strength and light weight, finished in true black type III class 2 hard coat anodize. ZEV Wedge Lock hand guard provides a full length continuous top rail with M-LOK mounting system. The integrated anti-rotation pin ensures a consistently aligned and continuous top rail with the upper receiver. ZEV match grade 16" barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 1:7 twist and mid-length gas system. Capable of sub-MOA accuracy with the use of high quality factory ammunition. Low profile fixed gas block. H3 carbine buffer increases dwell time and reduces port pressure to ensure reliable extraction and a smooth recoil impulse. Mil-spec chrome lined BCG with a manganese phosphate finish for improved lubricity and corrosion resistance. Mil-spec trigger group, carbine buffer tube, and operating controls. Completed with Magpul furniture and one 10 round PMAG magazine. Muzzle brake, fixed stock, and backfin grip for California compliance. Rifle Weight 6.64 lbs, 34.5" overall length.
