The Bushmaster Gas Piston System Rifles bring new levels of reliability to the “AR” type rifle platform by eliminating carbon build up, gas leaks and heat within the Upper Receiver. The Gas Piston System operates by tapping gas pressure off the barrel much like the systems found on AK-47s and FALs * Functions with a wider range of ammunition - less gas pressure - lower cyclic rate * Offers improved reliability and control - with cleaner operation and reduced recoil * Keeps carbon build up and powder residue from reaching - and fouling the Upper Receiver and Bolt Carrier * A Detented Plug in the Gas Block allows easy cleaning of the Systems’ Hard Chrome Plated Piston
Merkel Speedster
The HELIX Speedster, with its new synthetic stock strikes out in a new direction as a hunting rifle. The top-opened OmegaGrip combines two classic stock principles into an ergonomic and fast novelty. Because the good ergonomics during the shot of classic thumbhole stock constructs only reveals its disadvantages when reloading: During fast bolt action, the threading in and out of the thumb into the hole is obstructive. The new SpeedStock of the HELIX Speedster eliminates this problem. The thumb slides as if on rails along the ergonomic stock shape into shooting position on the OmegaGrip as well as out of it when reloading. The automatically adjustable stock comb can be adjusted in its height at the push of a button, an important advantage for shooting with a scope. TECHNICAL DATA:Straight-pull bolt-action rifle with a 1:2 transmission / closed system housing / real take-down / Barrel change option / 6 locking slugs turning head lock / Manual cocking lever / 3-round magazine (+1).
