Rifles Descriptions

Bushmaster Gas Piston 90294

The Bushmaster Gas Piston System Rifles bring new levels of reliability to the “AR” type rifle platform by eliminating carbon build up, gas leaks and heat within the Upper Receiver. The Gas Piston System operates by tapping gas pressure off the barrel much like the systems found on AK-47s and FALs * Functions with a wider range of ammunition - less gas pressure - lower cyclic rate * Offers improved reliability and control - with cleaner operation and reduced recoil * Keeps carbon build up and powder residue from reaching - and fouling the Upper Receiver and Bolt Carrier * A Detented Plug in the Gas Block allows easy cleaning of the Systems’ Hard Chrome Plated Piston

Ithaca 49 Saddlegun 49S22S18

The M49 Saddlegun is a single-shot falling block rifle with a dummy magazine tube that was made from 1961 to 1979 in Ithaca, New York. Introduced in 1961, about 31,000 were sold the first year. At just under $20, it was perfect for the market as it resembled a Winchester. From 1961 to 1979, roughly 500,000 are said to have been made. It is chambered in .22 Rimfire or 22 WMR (Winchester Magnum Rimfire). Loading is quite similar to Martini rifle, but the hammer is external and must be cocked manually. Also unlike the Martini, M49 has very positive extraction. The sights are typical of entry-level 22s, post and notch, with unmarked drift and elevation adjustments. The finish of the painted aluminum receiver tends to wear poorly. The barrel is marked "M-49 .22 Cal Short, Long, Long Rifle / Ithaca Gun Co., Ithaca N.Y., Made in U.S.A.". The serial number is found on the left side of the frame. The gun is mounted with blade mounted to a barrel band front sight. The rear sight is an elevator leaf with the elevator in place.
