Traditions 1861 Springfield Musket KR6184200
Used during the 19th century, the 1842 musket rifle was first made in smoothbore and then later a with a rifled barrel to allow for use of the newly developed Minie Ball. It was the first US musket to be produced with a percussion lock and was superior to the flintlock since it was more reliable and resistant to weather. This rifle was used during the American Civil War.
