Quackenbush, H.M. Bycycle Rifle 22LR

The third and last cartridge gun developed by H.M. Quackenbush was the Bicycle Rifle. Manufactured between 1896 and 1919 with a total production run of just 4321. It was another modification of the Safety Rifle principle. The main difference between this and the previous cartridge guns was a retractable wire stock that was used on the bicycle Rifle. The receiver is a smaller ligther version of the safety rifle receiver. A hole behind the trigger facilitates mounting the shoulder stock assemble. Two smaller holes on the lower edge behind the trigger accommodate the wire stock. The skeleton grip was made from a 1/4 inch diameter steel rod. The rifle was marketed to boys and sold for $5.00 at the time. For an additional .40 cents, you could get a canvas holster attached to a bicycle frame to carry the rifle in. The gun employs a bolt block that swivels to the side to allow the cartridge to be inserted. 12 inch or 30.5cm barrel.
