INLAND M1 A1 Paratrooper Carbine Type I
The M1 A1 Paratrooper Carbine was developed after a request for a compact and light infantry arm for airborne troops in WWII. The M1 A1 was made from 1942 to 1945 by Inland Division of General Motors. Arround 140,000 of them were made. They were originally issued to the 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions but were later issued to all army airborne units and the US Marine Corps. The M1 A1 Paratrooper Carbine was made three types. Type I and II worth 75% more than Type III. Type III is easy to recognize because it is the only Type that has bayonet lug on the barrel.
