Browning Silver Hunter
The Browning(R) Silver Hunter(TM) Matte is a lightweight, fast handling semi-auto shotgun that's designed with upland bird hunting in mind; though its self-adjusting Active Valve gas system increases its versatility to include most any type of wing shooting or shooting sport. The Active Valve gas system vents excess gas out the top of the forearm, and away from the receiver for clean, reliable operation with 2-3/4" and 3" shells, without the need or adjustment. The Silver Hunter Matte model comes with a matte blued barrel, a 2-tone silver/black receiver, and a checkered Turkish walnut stock with a brown, ventilated recoil pad. The semi-humpback receiver design with a ventilated rib and brass front bead creates a sight picture that's quick to pick up and swing on moving targets. The barrel comes back bored and threaded for Browning's Invector-Plus choke tubes (includes IC, M, & F) to deliver consistently tight shot patterns. Comes with 4 stock shims to adjust stock drop and cast. Manual cross-button trigger safety. Sling swivels. Fast Loading System & Smart Valve Piston. High class Turkish walnut stock and fore-end with oil polish and checkering. TRIOPAD butt system for maximum recoil absorption. Comes with 3 TRIOPAD stock spacers (each 5 mm width) to extend stock length of pull. Black & white anodized air craft alloy receiver with relief engraving & 11mm groove for scope mounts. Gold plated metal trigger. Capability of firing both 3”/76 mm and 2 3”/70 mm shells of 7/8 oz (24 gr) shot load to heavy 2 oz (57 gr) load magnum shells. Nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel barrel. Outside black hard chrome finish & inside white hard chrome finish. Proof tested for 1200 kg/cm2 (17160 lb. per square inch). The Smart Valve Piston automatically adjusts the exact & reliable gas pressure needed for a wide range of loads from 7/8 oz (24 gr) shot load to heavy 2 oz (57gr) load magnum shells and even to 2 1 (64 gr) double magnum shells. When firing light loads almost all of the gases are used to operate the action and only a small portion is exhausted. When firing heaviest magnum & double magnum loads most of the gases are exhausted and only a portion of the gases are used to operate the action. Escort’s patented Smart Valve Piston automatically self adjusts this reliably even if you mix different size & weight shot shells in the magazine and Escort shoots them all. Also, thanks to the Smart Valve Piston, most of the recoil is eliminated before it reaches your shoulder giving shooting conformance, reduced barrel lift and faster swing on targets. Smart Valve Piston is standard on all Escort semi auto shotguns.
