Browning Silver Hunter
The Browning(R) Silver Hunter(TM) Matte is a lightweight, fast handling semi-auto shotgun that's designed with upland bird hunting in mind; though its self-adjusting Active Valve gas system increases its versatility to include most any type of wing shooting or shooting sport. The Active Valve gas system vents excess gas out the top of the forearm, and away from the receiver for clean, reliable operation with 2-3/4" and 3" shells, without the need or adjustment. The Silver Hunter Matte model comes with a matte blued barrel, a 2-tone silver/black receiver, and a checkered Turkish walnut stock with a brown, ventilated recoil pad. The semi-humpback receiver design with a ventilated rib and brass front bead creates a sight picture that's quick to pick up and swing on moving targets. The barrel comes back bored and threaded for Browning's Invector-Plus choke tubes (includes IC, M, & F) to deliver consistently tight shot patterns. This fine field gun is crafted using a modified Anson & Deeley action with a sculpted frame that has been carefully hand finished and polished. Barrels are made using UM8 steel for exceptional strength and light weight. They are chrome lined for superior corrosion resistance unless not requested by the individual client. The barrels are assembled using the proven monoblock system and come with a classic St. Etienne-style concave rib. Standard features of the Upland Model include double triggers, automatic ejectors, oil-finished European walnut with 1.25 mm checkering and a Silvers-style red pad. Due to a recent increase in engraving prices as well as a recent drop in the dollar, hand engraving is now an extra charge for this basic model. An English stock and splinter forend are standard features.
