The newly designed frame of 90two pistol ensures trouble-free insertion and holster extraction, thanks to its rounded and truly snag-free surfaces. Inside the frame, near the disassembly lever, a metallic recoil buffer reduces the impact of the slide assembly against the frame during the shooting cycle. By redistributing the stresses, the recoil buffer increases the service life of the firearm. Trigger guard is also rounded to ensure, when firing with two hands, the correct positioning of the supporting hand.

With a design based on feedback from law enforcement, military trainers, firearms experts, and retailers, this Ruger American is a full-sized semi-automatic handgun featuring a revolutionary platform along with a recoil-reducing barrel cam, low mass slide, low center of gravity, and a low bore axis. Chambered in 9mm, the chassis and slide of this pistol are machined from black-nitride stainless steel and include functional slide serrations and purpose-oriented grip frame texturing for better control. Safety features include an internal, automatic sear block system, and an integrated trigger safety. Plus, the inspection port provides visual confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber, while the tool-free disassembly and reassembly make for easy maintenance of the American.
