Cimmaron 1897
John M. Browning's first slide or pump-action shotgun became Winchester's 1893 model, designed to handle black powder shotshells. However, after encountering some mechanical difficulties and the fact that it was unable to handle the then-new smokeless powder ammunition, a similar looking, but redesigned and improved model--the famed 1897 pump shotgun--was brought out.
