Leader Dynamics T2 MKV Semi-Automatic
The T2 MK5 (aka Tasmanian Devil) was semi-automatic version of the select-fire Leader T2 MK3. It was designed by Charles St George in 1978 and made by Leader Dynamics of Smithfield, NSW, Australia. USA importer was World Public Safety fromCulver City, CA who imported less than 2,000 of these rifles from 1986 to 1989. Leader Dynamics sold the design to Australian Automatic Arms who made few improvements and rename the firearm the SAR. Markings on the gun: CALIBRE 5.56mm, LEADER DYNAMICS, MADE IN AUSTRALIA, MODEL T2 MK 5. Function: Automated gas operation. Gas System: Short-stroke gas piston operation. Bolt Type: Rotating bolt, positively locked, triangular lugged. Return Type: Dual guide rods with captive springs. Scope Mount: Proprietary optics attachment to carry handle. The stocks are super tough Zytel and this is the first rifle to have used this polymer which is now the standard material for numerous military rifles and handgun frames.
