Johann Fanzoj Jagdwaffen Premium (from a Set of Five)

Built around the best and safest bolt action mechanism – the Mauser 98 - in the legendary 300WM calibre, with cold-hammer forged 65cm barrels of premium AMS steel (Aerospace Material Specification) and built to the highest level of craftsmanship by Fanzoj's skilled team, make each rifle of the Set a delight to handle. Every rifle seperately comes in an exquisite handcrafted exhibition leather´oak gun cases with handcrafted tools and accessories, each one a tasteful color and material composition, with fabulous oil-on-wood paintings portraying the individual animal – an “invention” uniquely done for our company by wildlife artist Rudi Kohl. THE ENGRAVING: A fantastic creative achievement by Ritchi Maier, who demonstrates here his talent for mastering most different engraving techniques, from deep-chiselled work to finest Bulino and then integrating them to provide a stunning impression of depth. Many hundreds of hours went alone in the realistic depiction of the animals´ skin texture on top of each weapon, up to the base of the barrel. A deep-chiselled work of the finest detail. Spectacular scrimshaws* in mammoth-Ivory seem to almost come alive, as if ready to jump at the observer. One of the challenges in such a project is to create stable connections between organic materials - wood and ivory - that may react to humidity and temperature changes. This was solved by employing nano-technology for stabilization and embedding each part of ivory in a precision-contoured metal frame and bolting this to the wood (and not merely gluing it in). ENGRAVING ON MAMMOTH IVORY – SCRIMSHAW: Symbols and pictures carved in animal bone and ivory, called scrimshaws, are among the oldest works of art known to mankind. Art as a Cult - closely linked to hunting. The raw material comes from thousands-of-years old mammoth ivory tusks harvested from the permafrost grounds of Northern Siberia.
