Husqvarna 1860

The Husqvarna 1860 was designed by Fabian Jakob Wrede and that's why is often known as Wrede rifle. Only about 20,000 M1860 Wrede rifles were manufactured prior to adoption of the M1860 Hagström needle-fire breech loader. About 4,000 Wrede rifles were altered to the Hagström breechloading system from 1864–66. The M1860 was percussion black powder rifle in 12.17mm or .48 caliber. Bullet in that caliber weight 23.1 g and had muzzle velocity of 1620 ft or 481 m/s. Bayonet could be mounted on M1860. Sights were set for 600 to 2000 feet. Barrel is stamped with wrapped large H (Husqvarna Weapons Factory) HG and TLIN. Socket bayonet could be used on M1860.
