Norrahammar N-900-270WIN

Norrahammar was the name of the cast iron foundry owned by Husqvarna. The rifle was made for export in the USA for 3 years from 1957 through 1959 and only 755 guns were made. They also had their own serial number range from 500,001 thru 500,755. The Norrahammar rifle is basically the same as the US model 4100 Lightweight, but with a different stock and not as well finished. Mechanically, they are just as high quality as any other Husqvarna. It is made with their 1640 action which is a slightly modified Mauser 98 action. The changes include a positive magazine floorplate release in the front of the trigger guard and a modified external bolt release. Unlike a Mauser 98, but like most other bolt action rifles, the magazine box is separate from the bottom iron. The rifle is very similar to their Model 1400 Lightweight, except for a different stock. The top of the barrel is marked “Norrahammar Rifles Norrahammar, Sweden Model N-900".
